Flyover expected to cut travel time by around 15 minutes
The proposed flyover is expected to reduce travel time for motorists using the route by around 15 minutes.
At present, motorists travelling along the route have to take a detour from Worli Naka, also known as Acharya Atre Chowk.
Once completed, the flyover is expected to provide a more direct route from E Moses Road towards Annie Besant Road and the Dharmaveer Swarajya Rakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road. Vehicles coming from Lower Parel, Mahalaxmi, and Curry Road will also be able to use the flyover directly.
The civic body said the project is expected to help reduce traffic congestion in the Worli Naka area. The reduction in travel distance and congestion is also expected to help motorists save fuel.
During the inspection, Bangar directed officials to ensure proper planning of manpower, machinery, and other resources required to complete the remaining work within the stipulated timeline. He also asked officials to increase the pace of construction and ensure coordination among various departments involved in the project.
Bangar further directed officials to coordinate with the traffic police and prepare a traffic management plan for the project.
Chief Engineer (Bridges) Rajesh Mule and other concerned officials and engineers were present during the inspection.
