A joint research centre is planned by University of Mumbai and Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services. This centre will enhance disaster preparedness and early warning systems along Maharashtra’s 720km coastline. The collaboration aims to support coastal communities in responding to climate change and natural disasters. It will also involve research and development projects to promote ocean-based technologies.
