The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation has appointed Shailesh Kulkarni as the acting city engineer, a move that has raised eyebrows due to seniority issues among the candidates. Executive Engineer Surendra Tengale, who has more seniority than Kulkarni, was also in the running. KDMC Commissioner Abhinav Goel defended the decision, asserting that merit can occasionally outweigh seniority, thus revealing inconsistencies in the KDMC’s recruitment process.
