In an effort to enhance oversight of construction waste, the BMC has launched the Mumbai Debris Control and Tracking System. A warning was issued to contractors working on the Coastal Road project for the improper use of unapproved excavation materials. During a site evaluation, it was found that key regulations and conditions outlined in the tender were not being followed.
