Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, while addressing party`s annual Dussehra rally, said that he will bring white paper on BJP`s `loot` of BMC after winning civic polls.
Hundreds of party workers from across Maharashtra on Thursday reached Shivaji Park in central Mumbai for Shiv Sena (UBT) annual Dussehra rally.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) has been preparing for the BMC elections and other civic body polls.
Uddhav on Thursday alleged that the BJP was trying to create divide between Hindus and Muslims ahead of Mumbai civic polls.
He said that the BJP has become like amoeba which causes stomach ache when it enters body and disturbs peace when it enters society.
Further attacking the BJP, Uddhav said, “There is no link between BJP and good governance.”
He said, “The Centre has money to buy votes in Bihar but does not have funds for rain-ravaged Maharashtra.”
“Are you satisfied with the poisonous fruits (referring to BJP) born from the RSS` 100-year effort,” Thackeray asked Mohan Bhagwat. The RSS` annual Vijayadashmi rally in Nagpur during the day marked the organisation`s centenary.
Uddhav Thackeray also criticised the government and accused it of being indifferent to the suffering of farmers affected by recent excess rainfall and crop damage.
Uddhav demanded a compensation of Rs 50,000 per acre for flood-affected farmers. He also asked the state that a loan-waiver must be announced for the farmers.
He also targeted the BJP over the arrest of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk in connection with the violence in Ladakh last month and asserted that fighting for rights and justice is becoming an act of treason in the country.
Speaking about the arrest of Sonam Wangchuk and the Maharashtra Special Public Security Act, Uddhav Thackeray said, “Fighting for rights and justice is becoming an act of treason in the country,” the PTI reported.
Wangchuk was held after violence, during a shutdown called on September 24 by Leh Apex Body (LAB) to advance talks with the Centre on the demands for statehood and extension of the Sixth Schedule to Ladakh, led to the deaths of four persons, and injuries to 80 others, including 40 police personnel.
Wangchuk was detained under National Security Act on September 26 and is currently lodged in a jail in Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
