The Shiv Sena Shaka Ganesh Utsav Mandal at Khewra Circle, Manpada, Thane, led by Arvinder Singh Anand (Tony Anand), Shaka Pramukh with the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena party, has become a focal point of celebration this Ganesh Chaturthi. This year’s theme, inspired by the Fort of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, has drawn attention for its grandeur and historical significance. The mandal has recreated a stunning replica of the Maratha fort, complete with ancient weapons, to honor the legacy of Shivaji Maharaj.
The Ganesh idol, modeled after the famous Lal Baugcha Raja, stands as a central attraction, offering devotees an opportunity for darshan similar to that of Mumbai’s iconic pandal. Tony Anand explained, “Our aim was to give senior citizens and devotees, who cannot make the journey to Lal Baug, the chance to experience the same divine atmosphere here in Thane.”
