Tamannah Bhatia, Rakul Preet Singh, Samantha Ruth Prabhu`s fake voter ids found

Fake voter ID cards featuring actresses Tamannaah Bhatia, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Rakulpreet Singh were discovered ahead of the Jubilee Hills bypoll in Telangana.

According to sources, Election Commission authorities are probing the matter.

All about the elections

The high-stakes byelection for the Jubilee Hills assembly constituency would take place on November 11, with ballots counted on November 14. The byelection is being held due to the death of BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath in June of this year, which was caused by a heart attack.

The ruling Congress in Telangana had announced V Naveen Yadav as its candidate, while the opposition BRS fielded Maganti Sunitha, the late MLA`s widow. Lankala Deepak Reddy of the BJP is also in the running.

Earlier, KT Rama Rao, Working President of the Bharath Rashtra Samithi, accused the Congress of registering “thousands of fake voters” in the Jubilee Hills constituency.

“The people are very angry with Congress, so they know they won’t get votes. That’s why, in one house, they got 43 fake votes registered. In each house, 43 fake votes. In total, they registered thousands of fake votes. We are doing an exercise on that, we will counter it in whatever way necessary,” KTR said.

What had happened at Telangana High Court

Meanwhile, the BRS filed a plea in the Telangana High Court about alleged bogus votes in Jubilee Hills.

After hearing the petitions filed by BRS Jubliee Hills candidate Maganti Sunitha, the High Court ruled that no further action was required. The court stated that it cannot make any more orders because the State Election Commission is currently amending the electoral rolls.

“The allegation that no action was taken on the BRS complaint is false,” the Election Commission attorney stated.

The SEC`s attorney further noted that the State Election Commission will act based on the report provided by the District Election Officer.

The State Election Commission informed the court that, based on the complaint filed by BRS leaders, it had already directed the District Election Officer to investigate the situation.
