The couple were set to take their six-year relationship to the next phase by tying the knot. The wedding festivities had created a major buzz among fans, and was expected to be attended by several members of the Indian women`s cricket team and the cricket fraternity.

On the other hand, Palaash had shared a video of proposing to the cricketer inside a cricket stadium.

Smriti played a crucial role in helping India create history after the team won their first Women`s World Cup title. Smriti also scored a century and a couple of half-centuries as she opened the innings for India at the Women`s World Cup 2025.
