Shah Rukh Khan returned to the screens with a bang with YRF`s Pathaan in 2023 after years of hiatus. Naturally, the film went on to become a blockbuster. Ever since, there have been multiple reports that suggest the makers are working on its sequel, Pathaan 2. However, there has been no official word on the same. Recently, Shah Rukh was seen attending an event in Dubai for the promotion of a property brand. During the event, the superstar made a statement that has fans convinced that Pathaan 2 is happening.
Did Shah Rukh Khan confirm Pathaan 2?
During the event, he said, “Koi blockbuster movie hoti hai toh uska ek sequel hota hai, am I right? Like Pathaan. Pathaan 2 aa rahi hai. Toh koi movie aap dekho, toh uska sequel hoga.” He went on to link it with his property brand.

The video clip of his statement has since gone viral on social media. The fans of the superstar soon got excited that maybe Pathaan 2 is happening soon. However, it is still to be officially confirmed by the makers or SRK, since his indirect statement could be merely an example and not a confirmation.
Meanwhile, according to reports, SRK will have a cameo as Pathaan in Alia Bhatt and Sharvari starrer Alpha. The female spy film was slated to release on Christmas this year; however, it has been postponed to 2026. Rumours claim that the makers are likely to start working on Pathaan 2 post that.
Shah Rukh Khan`s upcoming films
On the workfront, Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy with the filming of Siddharth Anand`s King. The film includes an ensemble cast including Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Abhay Verma, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Rani Mukerji, and others.
The first look of the highly anticipated film was released on SRK`s birthday this year. The director dropped SRK`s look from the film, which received a fantastic response from fans. Although the release date of King is not yet officially announced, reports claim that the movie will hit the big screens during the Gandhi Jayanti weekend next year.
