Rupali Ganguly requests paps with folded hands not to film Satish Shah’s wife

Veteran Bollywood actor and sitcom star Satish Shah passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 74. The actor`s death was confirmed by filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who stated that Shah had succumbed to kidney failure. His prayer meet was conducted on October 27 and was attended by the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai cast. After the event, Rupali Ganguly was seen gently requesting the paparazzi not to film his wife, Madhu.

In a viral video from the prayer meet, Rupali, who fondly called Satish “Kaka,” made a special request to the paparazzi. With folded hands, the Anupamaa actress asked the cameramen not to film Shah’s bereaved wife, Madhu. Ganguly said, “Aap se ek request… Madhu kaki ka mat lo… Please, please. Please neeche kar lo. Unko jaane do, hum log yahin hai. (We have one request to make. Please don’t capture Madhu kaki. Please lower your cameras. Let her go. We are here only).”

After the prayer meet, the cast posed for the paparazzi. In a special moment, Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghvan, Rajesh Kumar, JD Majethia, Deven Bhojani, and Aatish Kapadia celebrated Shah’s life and his contribution to Indian entertainment by singing Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’s title song at the prayer meet. Satish’s ailing wife, Madhu, was also seen humming the song as JD held the mic for her.

In a heartfelt video shared by JD Majethia, the producer of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, on his Instagram handle, Madhu can be seen singing her late husband`s favourite song, Tere Mere Sapne, along with singer Sonu Nigam at the prayer meet, leaving everyone emotional.

To note, Madhu Shah made a rare appearance during the prayer meet. She is reportedly suffering from Alzheimer’s. One of the actor’s closest friends, actor Sachin Pilgaonkar, revealed to News18 that Satish underwent a kidney transplant to take care of his ailing wife. He said, “Unfortunately, even Madhu isn’t well. She has Alzheimer’s. This year, Satish got his kidney transplanted. He wanted to extend his life so that he could take care of Madhu. He was on dialysis. Earlier, he underwent a bypass surgery, which was successful.”
