Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Ramayana 3D promo to be attached with Avatar: Fire and Ash

The 3D promo of Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana will debut in theatres with the Hollywood biggies Avatar: Fire and Ash, after having taken over the internet earlier this year. The film directed by Nitesh Tiwari is touted to be one of the biggest films of 2026 starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol and many more in pivotal roles. 

Ramayana teaser

The first glimpse of Ramayana was unveiled on all digital platforms in July earlier this year. The first glimpse or the introduction video into the world of Ramayana features stellar visuals, indicating top-notch world-class VFX. The video introduces members of the film, including music composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. The video also gives us a quick glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana. 

The film will feature a power-packed cast playing the pivotal roles of the Ramayana. Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi will essay the roles of Lord Ram and Sita. Sunny Deol will be seen as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman, Lara Dutta takes on the role of Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as Shurpanakha, and Kajal Aggarwal plays Mandodari.

The makers are going all out with the scale of the film, promising to give audiences a never-seen-before experience of the Ramayana on the big screen. Reportedly, the film is being made on a massive budget of Rs 835 crores. The makers have also roped in the best of the best technicians to make this a landmark film. Recently, actor Yash was seen shooting his portions with legendary Hollywood stunt director Guy Norris—celebrated for Mad Max: Fury Road and The Suicide Squad. The film promises to be a landmark in filmmaking—a mythological epic powered by top-tier talent, a world-class VFX team, grand sets, and an ensemble cast that brings this story to life.

When will Ramayana be released

While the excitement around the film is immense, the wait will be a long one. Part 1 of Ramayana will be released in October 2026, marking the Diwali festivities. The second part will be released during Diwali 2027.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Prime Focus Studios and co-produced by Yash`s Monster Mind Creations and 8-time Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey, with music by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman.
