Rajasthan MLA seeks tax-free status for Farhan Akhtar`s 120 Bahadur in the state

Farhan Akhtar`s upcoming film 120 Bahadur is already creating a lot of buzz. Following the intense teaser, trailer and songs, the curiosity is at an all-time high. The film, which tells the fierce, inspiring, and untold chapter of India’s biggest war, where 120 brave and courageous Indian soldiers held their ground against 3,000 Chinese troops, is soon nearing its release date. Amid the growing anticipation, an MLA from Rajashtha has requested the government to declare the film tax-free in the state.

Rajasthan MLA writes to CM to make 120 Bahadur tax-free

Ravindra Singh Bhati, a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from the Sheo constituency, has made the first request to declare the film tax-free in the state. He has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, conveying his request.

Ravindra Singh Bhati took to his social media to share the letter and the news. The letter, originally in Hindi read, “It is requested that the film 120 Bahadur, which will be released in theatres across the country on November 21, is an inspiring cinematic presentation based on the true saga of the indomitable courage, valor, and sacrifice of the Indian Army. The film specifically focuses on the historic Battle of Rezang La, fought on November 18, 1962, during the Indo-China War, and the immortal saga of Param Vir Chakra winner Major Shaitan Singh Bhati and the 120 brave soldiers who fought with him, including eight Vir Chakra, one Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, and four Sena Medal winners.”

“In this war, our soldiers fought with indomitable courage against the Chinese soldiers until their last breath. This film not only brings alive the glorious history of that war but also presents the Indian soldiers as a symbol of discipline, dedication to the motherland, and bravery. Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who hails from the brave land of Rajasthan, made the impossible possible through his leadership, indomitable courage, and military skills. The valour displayed by the brave sons of the Kumaon Regiment of the Indian Army under his leadership remains a source of inspiration for our youth even today. This film will not only strengthen the spirit of patriotism, discipline, and sacrifice among the youth of the state but will also teach future generations that no sacrifice is too small for the defence of the nation. Therefore, we humbly request you to exempt the film 120 Bahadur from entertainment tax in the state of Rajasthan,” the letter added.

Concluding the letter, Bhat noted, “I humbly request you to declare the film 120 Bahadur exempt from entertainment tax in the state of Rajasthan, so that all sections of society, especially youth and students, have the opportunity to view it in large numbers and be inspired by the saga of our martyrs. Your decision will symbolise respect for Rajasthan`s heroic tradition and glorious military history, and will also strengthen the values ​​of unity, integrity, and patriotism of the nation. Therefore, I am confident that you will take a positive decision on this public interest request.”

About 120 Bahadur

120 Bahadur revolves around the extraordinary courage of 120 Indian soldiers from the 13 Kumaon Regiment, who fought in the historical Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 war. Farhan Akhtar will be playing the role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC, who, along with his troupe, stood against all odds in one of the most defining battles of Indian military history. 

Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar and Amit Chandrra, the film is an Excel Entertainment production and releases in cinemas on November 21, 2025.
