Paresh Rawal hits back at Congress functionary calling The Taj Story propaganda

Paresh Rawal’s The Taj Story, despite limited buzz, is growing at the box office with good word of mouth. In 10 days, the film stands at a total net collection of Rs 15.74 crore in India. A Congress member had taken a dig at Rawal over the film’s earnings, accusing him of relying on propaganda for success. Now, the actor has given a befitting reply, clarifying that the collections are organic.

Paresh Rawal hits back at Congress functionary

The Congress functionary reacted to one of the news reports about the ninth-day box office collection of the film on November 10 and wrote in Hindi, “Now, get Modi Ji to watch the screening as well… Paresh Ji, the film won’t run without propaganda. The movie would have earned more without your acting. It’s unfortunate; you used to be such a great actor.”

Paresh was in no mood to ignore his post. Reacting to it on Monday, he wrote on X, “Saurabh bhai, FYI the film was made in approx. 6–7 crores and so far has made approx. 15 crore and still counting! Since you people will have to buy BURNOL in huge quantities, we can afford to give a donation.”

About The Taj Story

The film includes a powerhouse ensemble led by Paresh Rawal, along with Zakir Hussain, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sneha Wagh, Namit Das, Veena Jha, Latika Verma, Swarnim, and Sarvagaya. It is touted to be a hard-hitting social drama that fearlessly raises one of the most provocative questions of our times.
Written and directed by Tushar Amrish Goel, with Vikas Radhesham as Creative Producer, the music is scored by Rohit Sharma. The Taj Story is not just another historical or period film; it is believed to be a cinematic debate that seeks to challenge long-held narratives. One of the core themes that drives the story is the ongoing debate about the Taj Mahal’s origins — whether it was truly built by Shah Jahan, or if history hides a far more complex and concealed truth.

Paresh Rawal’s upcoming movies

Rawal will reprise his iconic role as Babu Bhaiya in the third installment of the Hera Pheri franchise, alongside original cast members Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. He will also star in Priyadarshan’s horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla with Akshay Kumar and Tabu. He is also part of Ahmed Khan’s Welcome To The Jungle, which also stars Raveena Tandon, Tusshar Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Jacqueline Fernandez, and many others.
