Now book Mumbai Metro Line 1 tickets directly through Uber app, here`s how

Commuters travelling on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar Mumbai Metro Line 1 corridor can now find, buy, and use metro tickets without leaving the Uber app.

The new feature aims to make travel easier, reduce waiting times, and remove the need to stand in long ticket queues. The service has been launched through a partnership between Uber, Mumbai Metro One, and the ONDC Network.

Uber has introduced metro ticket booking for the first time in Mumbai, allowing passengers to buy tickets for Mumbai Metro Line 1 directly through the Uber app.

The feature comes after successful launches in Delhi and Chennai earlier this year.

Shiva Shailendran, Director-Consumer Growth, Uber India & South Asia, said,”Bringing metro ticketing to the Uber app in Mumbai means less waiting, fewer hassles, and more control for riders. It’s another step towards making city travel smooth and connected, from planning to payment to the journey itself.”

Payments for the new ticketing service will be available only through UPI, supporting Uber’s goal of promoting digital inclusion and India’s growing digital public systems.

Nitin Nair, Senior Executive Director, ONDC, added, “The integration of metro ticketing on the Uber app through the ONDC Network shows how India’s Digital Public Infrastructure can make daily life easier on a large scale. After Delhi and Chennai, we’re pleased to bring this feature to Mumbaikars with Uber.”

Soon, the Uber app will also offer live Mumbai Metro service updates, station details, and route planning tools to help passengers travel more efficiently, an official statement said.
