Mumbai’s air quality stands at ‘Moderate’ with 103 AQI
Although the temperature across the city has observed a significant decline, making the atmosphere a lot more pleasing. The Air Quality across the city is observed to be a concerning scenario. While the mist disappeared over the course of the day, the Central Pollution Control Board’s SAMEER app reported in its latest Mumbai weather updates that the city’s air quality is in the `moderate` category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 103 at 8.05 AM on Monday.
Experts have warned that AQI is likely to worsen as winter approaches, which was the scene previously in 2023-24. As we move from prolonged rains to impending winter, Mumbai has consistently recorded worsening AQI during this seasonal change since 2022, particularly from November to January. This is due to reduced atmospheric moisture and considerably slow wind speed in comparison to the monsoon month.
