Mumbai Metro offers discounted passes for differently-abled, check details here

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has activated 25 per cent discounted trip passes for differently-abled passengers on the MetroConnect-3 app, officials said on Sunday, adding that the update is currently available only for iOS users, as it is still awaiting approval from Google. Once the update is approved, Android users will also be able to access the discount.

MMRC said the feature aims to make metro travel more affordable and convenient for differently-abled commuters. Passengers using Apple devices can start booking discounted trip passes immediately.

The MMRC assured Android users that the feature will be available soon and encouraged them to keep their MetroConnect-3 app updated for the latest version.

In a significant step towards ensuring an inclusive and accessible transit experience for all Metro Line-3 had earlier announced the introduction of a 25 per cent fare concession for passengers with disabilities.

The discount is aimed at making the metro system more affordable for persons with disabilities, officials had earlier stated.

The move is part of Mumbai Metro`s ongoing commitment to providing a more accessible and equitable travel experience for all its passengers, including those with special needs. The 25 per cent fare reduction is expected to benefit a large number of commuters with disabilities who rely on the metro as an essential mode of transport, officials said.
