Mumbai commuters during the early hours of Wednesday faced a brief inconvenience as a minor technical glitch occurred during a trial run on Metro Line 9. Metro Line 9 will run from Dahisar East to Mira Bhayander. However, the services were disrupted towards line 7 as a technical glitch near Dahisar East occurred. The issue occurred when a train transitioning from Line 9 towards Line 7 encountered a technical glitch at the point section. The incident led to a temporary halt of the Metro train operations on line 7.
Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation, while posting on a social media platform, said that, “During today’s trial run on Metro Line 9, while the train was transitioning towards Line 7, a minor technical issue was encountered near the point section at Dahisar East. The train briefly halted, but services were swiftly managed to ensure smooth passenger movement.”
Addressing the issue, the Mumbai Metro officials further asserted that the technical glitch was quickly resolved to ensure that passenger movement was not significantly affected.

While the train was stationary, contingency measures were immediately put in place to maintain connectivity across affected stretches.
Additionally, a short loop service was operational between Gundavali and Aarey on both lines to further minimise inconvenience and maintain seamless travel options for passengers. As per Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation’s social media post on X, officials confirmed that services on Lines 2A and 7, including all stations between Andheri West and Dahisar, remained fully operational throughout the incident.
Asserting about the resolved issue, MMMOCL on social media platform X said, “Importantly, services on Lines 2A & 7, including all stations between Andheri West and Dahisar, remained fully operational.”
Furthermore, the maintenance team was immediately deployed to address the technical issue. Following inspection and repair, the halted train was cleared, and all services were fully restored. Metro authorities emphasised that the swift response highlights Maha Mumbai Metro’s commitment to passenger safety and uninterrupted operations.
Asserting about the passenger safety, MMMOCL also said that, “Our maintenance team was immediately deployed, the issue was resolved promptly, and services are now running smoothly, once again reflecting Maha Mumbai Metro’s commitment to safe, reliable and seamless journeys for Mumbaikars.
