Mumbai gets 360-degree cinema at Bollywood Park in film city

A new 360-degree cinema was recently launched at the Bollywood Park in Mumbai`s film city. The whole new movie-watching experience was officially launched last week.

Maharashtra’s cultural minister, Ashish Shelar on Saturday officially inaugurated the new 360-degree cinema. He announced upgrades at the Bollywood Park and launch of a dedicated app.

The inauguration was done on the occasion of the 48th Foundation Day of Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari (film city).

Ashish Shelar wrote on X, “A brand-new 360-Degree Curve Theatre was inaugurated at Bollywood Park in Mumbai. This unique theatre promises to offer visitors a one-of-a-kind immersive cinematic experience, giving a closer look at the magic of Bollywood.”

“On the occasion of the 48th Foundation Day of Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari, inaugurated the 360-Degree Curve Theatre at Bollywood Park. This theatre will offer tourists a unique cinematic experience and an immersive glimpse into the magic of Bollywood,” he wrote on X.

The 360-Degree Cinema offers a truly unique experience where the audience feels fully immersed in the film. Wherever one looks, the visuals surround the person, making it feel as if the person is actually part of the movie, offering a whole new experience of movie-watching.

The inauguration was attended by film city’s Managing Director Swati Mhase Patil, Joint Managing Director Prashant Sajanikar, Bollywood Park Director Santosh Mizgar, along with office bearers and staff members from various departments, he further wrote on social media.

Shelar further stated that to mark the day, a tree plantation drive was also held and a new ambulance service has been launched for the safety and well-being of staff and visitors coming for film shoots.

For the first time in its history, film city has released a quarterly magazine, highlighting the progress made over the past three months.

In a digital upgrade, a new dashboard has been launched to handle staff booking, analysis, and data monitoring. Furthermore, an updated app has been introduced for ND Studio and booking management, aiming to improve operations and streamline services, Ashish Shelar said while taking to reporters on Saturday.

The officials said that these initiatives are part of a broader push to modernise infrastructure and provide better facilities to all stakeholders involved in film city’s operations.
