A Level-I fire broke out on Wednesday at 11:48 AM in the Alanda housing society of Gorai No. 2, near Shiv Mandir and Mangalmurti Hospital in Borivali West in Mumbai, according to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB).
The fire, reported at 11:48 AM, was confined to a residential area. The MFB officially declared it a Level-I fire at 11:51 AM, and the first update was shared at 12:00 PM.
Multiple agencies were promptly mobilised to the scene, including the BMC’s Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police, 108 ambulance services, BMC ward staff, and personnel from the concerned electricity distribution company. As of the latest update, no injuries have been reported.
Mumbai: Fire breaks out in Malad high-rise; two injured
A Level-1 fire broke out early Wednesday morning at the Bhumi Classic Building, located near Inorbit Mall on Link Road in Malad West, Mumbai, according to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB). The incident was reported at 5:06 AM on Wednesday, and the fire was completely extinguished by 7:05 AM.
The fire was confined to multiple flats, including flat no. 602 on the sixth floor and flats 701 to 704 on the seventh floor of the ground-plus-seven-storey residential building. The blaze affected electrical wiring and installations, along with furniture, household items, clothes, curtains, air conditioners, kitchen appliances, and parts of the false ceiling, doors, and windows.
Two individuals were reported injured in the incident. Shubham Agotaria, a 24-year-old male, sustained a cut injury to his left hand and was treated at Lifeline Hospital, Malad West. He was later discharged and allowed to return home. In a separate case, Senior Station Officer Jadhav suffered an internal injury to his left leg during the firefighting operation. He was transported to Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari (East) via a 108 ambulance for further treatment.
The situation was brought under control promptly, and there were no casualties reported.
Fire breaks out at cotton godown in Thane; no casualty reported
A major fire broke out at a cotton godown in Maharashtra`s Thane district on Wednesday morning, officials said.
There was no report of any casualty so far, they said.
The blaze was reported around 6 am at the godown located at Rahnal village in Bhiwandi town. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from the warehouse.
Multiple fire engines from the Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation were rushed to the spot and firefighting was currently underway, the civic body`s disaster control cell chief Saquib Kharbe said. The cause of the blaze was yet to be ascertained.
