Mumbai: 62-year-old Delhi man held for molestation in crowded local near Dadar

A case of molestation has come to light in a suburban local train, where a 62-year-old man allegedly took advantage of the crowd and misbehaved with a woman. The incident occurred near Dadar railway station. The accused has been identified as Darshankumar Giridharilal Makhan, a resident of Uttam Nagar, Govardhan Park, West Delhi. He was arrested by the Government Railway Police at Dadar station based on the complaint filed by the woman; however, he was later released on bail.

The incident took place on Saturday (September 13) around 12.30 pm when the complainant, along with her friend, boarded a fast local from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) bound for Kalyan. Due to the heavy rush inside the compartment, both were standing together when the accused, who was standing behind the woman, allegedly touched her inappropriately.

Terrified, the woman immediately informed her friend, and as the train approached Dadar station, they reported the matter to the railway police. The elderly accused was arrested by the railway police, who took him to the police station for questioning. Based on the woman’s complaint, a case of molestation has been registered.
