A fire broke out at a shop of a quick commerce platform at a market in Navi Mumbai on Friday morning, a civic official said, reported news agency PTI.
There were no reports of injuries in the blaze that erupted at the premises in the APMC market in Vashi around 9 am, the official said.
Five fire engines were dispatched to the scene, including two from the Vashi fire department and one each from the Nerul, Airoli, and Koparkhairane, said Sachin Kadam, chief of the civic disaster control cell, reported PTI.
The blaze has been brought under control, and cooling operations are underway, he said, adding that the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be assessed.
Fire breaks out inside closed office in Ghatkopar
In another incident, a fire broke out in a building in suburban Ghatkopar (West) on Monday evening, a civic official said, adding that no injuries were reported in the incident and the flames were swiftly extinguished.
The fire inside a closed office on the second floor of the Metropole building near Zunzunwala College was reported at around 5.59 pm.
A fire brigade team rushed to the spot and doused it by 6.12 pm, the official said.
The cause of the fire was being ascertained, he said.
Major fire at shoe showroom near Mumbai`s Crawford Market; no report of injuries
Meanwhile, a major fire broke out in a showroom of a leading shoe brand near Crawford Market in south Mumbai late Sunday night (October 26), a civic official said.
There is no report of any injury to anyone, he added.
“The blaze started in the ground-floor showroom at Dwarkadas Building on Lokmanya Tilak Road. The Mumbai Fire Brigade was alerted about it at 10.26 pm. It was initially classified as Level I but was later upgraded to Level II at 10.44 pm as smoke spread to adjacent shops. The fire was confined to materials inside the showroom of the four-storey building,” the official said.
Eight fire engines, six jumbo tankers, one ambulance from the 108 service, and other firefighting equipment have been deployed at the site, where operations to control and douse the blaze are underway, he said.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, the official said.
