Maharashtra Agriculture Ministry unveils new logo and slogan after 38 years

The Maharashtra Agriculture Ministry on Tuesday unveiled a new logo and slogan, marking its first visual identity revamp in nearly four decades, news agency PTI reported.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis unveiled the new emblem in Mumbai in the presence of Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne.

The ministry had organised an open competition to design the new logo and slogan, “Sashwat Sheti, Samruddha Shetkari” (Sustainable Farming, Prosperous Farmer), which received 761 logo entries and 949 slogan submissions, PTI reported.

Agriculture Minister Bharne said the redesigned emblem reflects the strength of farmers, technological progress, and environmentally sustainable growth in the sector. “This logo is not just a symbol but the modern face of Maharashtra’s agriculture. It marks the beginning of a new era of agricultural thought,” he stated.

He noted that the previous emblem had been in use for almost 38 years. With advancements in technology, mechanisation, climate adaptation, and farming methods, the ministry felt the need to modernise its visual and communication identity.

Following a detailed evaluation by a committee headed by the Agriculture Commissioner, the final designs were approved on November 7.

The new logo, designed by Virendra Bhaidas Patil from Bhusawal, and the slogan, penned by Siddhi Bharat Desai from Parbhani, were selected as the winning entries and honoured during the ceremony.

Bharne added that the updated logo and slogan will now feature across all official communications and activities of the Agriculture Department.
