No long kisses please
With just days left for its Diwali release, the Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Thamma has completed its certification process. However, reports suggest that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) suggested minor changes, including muting the word “Ashwathama”, replacing “Alexander” with “Sikandar”, and altering “Azaadi doonga” to “Aiyaashi karata hoon”. The board also directed the makers to “reduce the slurping sound of drinking blood to minimum” and trim a kissing scene by five seconds. Following these modifications, Thamma received a ‘U/A 16+’ certificate, with an approved runtime of almost 150 minutes. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the horror comedy releases on October 21.
Blamed for things I’ve never done
Salman Khan
The latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 19 saw Salman Khan reflect on his own life while advising Amaal Mallik after the singer’s heated clash with Farrhana Bhatt. Salman said, “I’ve been blamed for things I’ve not even done, and I’m bearing it to this day.” He added that Amaal must learn to stay calm in a “vicious world”. He also cautioned him for calling Farrhana’s mother “B-grade” and snatching her plate. Amaal’s father, Daboo Mallik, joined the stage to counsel his son, while Salman quipped, “If his dignity is in your hands, it’s gone.”
‘Santosh’ release paused
Shahana Goswami in ‘Santosh’
Filmmaker Sandhya Suri has expressed disappointment after the India digital première of her acclaimed film Santosh was abruptly paused, calling it “a real shame.” The 2024 Cannes selection, starring Shahana Goswami, was due to stream on Lionsgate Play on October 17. The director told Deadline that the censor board had previously demanded cuts for a theatrical release that “compromised the integrity of the film. Perhaps this is about an environment where streamers take on certain objections of their own accord,” she said.
