Farah Khan dismisses reports of unfollowing Deepika Paduone on Instagram

Farah Khan and Deepika Padukone made headlines when reports surfaced that the two had unfollowed each other on social media. Speculations about a potential fallout circulated online, but now both have addressed the matter. The filmmaker revealed that they were never following each other on social media in the first place.

`Fake controversy has to stop`

Talking to Pinkvilla, Farah Khan said, “To begin with, we were not following each other earlier, too!! We had made a pact during the Happy New Year shoot that we wouldn’t communicate on Instagram; instead, we’d use direct messages and calls. We don’t even wish birthday wishes on Insta because Deepika doesn’t like it. Also, my 8-hour comment wasn’t a dig; it was to make Dilip say that he will now also work 8 hours when he actually works just for 2 hours!”

Farah added, “No one even knows I was one of the first few people who went to see Deepika when Dua was born. Not everything is done for Instagram and the paps.”

She further commented, “This new trend of turning anything into a fake controversy has to stop!! Last week, it was that Karan and I ignored Aayush on the red carpet, when in reality we had just met him downstairs before coming up!! It can genuinely cause problems between people; thankfully, I pick up the phone and call them before it gets worse! But people need to stop doing this.”

In an Instagram post by the portal, Deepika Padukone commented “Amen” on Farah’s reaction to the news.

Farah Khan directed Deepika Padukone’s Hindi debut film Om Shanti Om, which put her on the map. Since then, they have also worked together in Happy New Year.

What Farah Khan said about Deepika`s eight-hour shift policy?

In one of her YouTube vlogs, Farah Khan visited Radhika Madan’s house. When discussing Radhika’s first audition for Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, Farah asked, “You didn’t have an 8-hour shift, I am guessing?” Radhika replied, “56 hours non-stop or 48 hours non-stop.” Farah then hinted she does not support the 8-hour work shift, saying, “Aise tapke hi toh sona banta hai (this is how gold is made).”

More recently, Farah visited Rohit Saraf’s house with her cook Dilip. During the chat, when asked when Deepika Padukone would come to their show, Farah replied, “She now shoots only for 8 hours and doesn’t have time to come on our vlog. Jiss din tu gaon jaayega naa uss din aayegi (The day you go to your village, that day she’ll come).”
