Western Railway on Thursday announced that there will be a no mega block on its suburban section this Sunday, (October 19) in view of the Diwali 2025 celebrations.
An official statement issued on Thursday said that there will be a no mega block on Sunday.
The decision aims to ensure smoother travel for Mumbaikars during the festival weekend, when passenger movement typically sees a surge, officials said.
Regular Sunday blocks are carried out for maintenance work, but have been temporarily suspended to avoid inconvenience to commuters, they said.
Western Railway to run special train between Valsad and Hisar for Diwali 2025 and Chhath Puja
Western Railway on Wednesday announced that it will run a festive special train between Valsad and Hisar for Diwali 2025 and Chhath Puja.
An official statement said that to ease travel during the Diwali and Chhath Puja festivals, Western Railway has announced a special weekly train service between Valsad and Hisar.
The special train will run for a limited time and is aimed at helping passengers reach their destinations comfortably during the festive rush, it said.
According to a press release from the Public Relations Department of Western Railway, Train No. 04728/04727 will operate as a Weekly Special on special fare for a total of 8 trips.
Train schedule:
Train No. 04728 Valsad – Hisar Special will depart every Thursday at 14:50 hrs from Valsad and reach Hisar at 14:05 hrs the next day.
Runs from 16th October to 6th November 2025.
Train No. 04727 Hisar – Valsad Special will depart every Wednesday at 12:05 hrs from Hisar and reach Valsad at 11:30 hrs the next day.
Runs from 15th October to 5th November 2025.
The train will halt at stations including Navsari, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Godhra, Dahod, Ratlam, Mandsor, Nimach, Chittaurgarh, Bhilwara, Bijai Nagar, Nasirabad, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Phulera, Ringas, Nim Ka Thana, Narnaul, Rewari, Charkhi Dadri, Bhiwani and Hansi in both directions.
The train will include First AC, AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches, offering a range of options for different types of travellers.
“Tickets for Train No. 04728 can be booked at all PRS counters and through the IRCTC website. For full details regarding the train’s timetable and composition, passengers are advised to visit: www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in,” an official statement said.
