In an unfortunate incident, the set of a Bollywood film has been affected. It is reported that a unit shooting in Ladakh was hit by food poisoning, and over 100 members of the unit were admitted to a hospital in Leh. It is being said that the film set was Ranveer Singh`s Dhurandhar.
120 people hospitalised on Dhurandhar sets
Officials reportedly confirmed on Monday that “Over 100 workers of a Bollywood film crew were hospitalised in Leh after a suspected case of food poisoning late Sunday evening.” The workers of the film unit were reportedly shooting for an upcoming film when many of them suddenly developed severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and headache.
Those affected were immediately rushed to the Sajal Narbu Memorial (SNM) Hospital in Leh, where the doctors confirmed it was a case of mass food poisoning. An official stated that nearly 600 people had meals at the location before the incident occurred. Officials added, “Food samples have been collected for detailed analysis to identify the cause,” the official added.
Meanwhile, the hospital authorities revealed that the situation was brought under control by urgently mobilising the staff from all departments. “We managed the patient rush effectively. The police also stepped in to regulate the overcrowded emergency ward and prevent panic,” a senior doctor revealed.
The doctors also confirmed that all patients are now in stable condition, as most of them have been discharged after receiving necessary treatment. The authorities are meanwhile awaiting the laboratory reports of the food samples to fix accountability.
The incident has raised questions about the safety standards at such large-scale shooting locations in sensitive regions like Leh. As the investigation continues, more details about the kind of food and the water consumed by the unit members are awaited. It was also unknown is the producer, director any prominent Bollywood stars were among those affected.
