CR to run 23 festive season special trains for Chhath Puja

The Central Railway in Mumbai on Saturday said that to meet the festive rush of Diwali and Chhath Puja, it will operate a total of 23 special trains on October 27 October, 2025.

The announcement was made by Vijay Kumar, General Manager, Central Railway.

An official statement said that the special services will run across Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, and Nagpur divisions, ensuring comfortable travel for passengers heading to destinations in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Delhi, among others.

Mumbai division special trains

From CSMT and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), six festival specials will operate to Ghazipur City, Asansol, Gorakhpur, and Danapur.

01045 CSMT-Ghazipur City Special departing at 07:35 hrs.

01145 CSMT-Asansol Special departing at 11:05 hrs.

01079 CSMT-Gorakhpur Special departing at 22:30 hrs.

01143, 01017 and 01063 LTT-Danapur Specials departing between 10:30 hrs and 23:55 hrs.

These trains will include AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches, ensuring adequate accommodation for long-distance travellers.

Pune division special trrains

From Pune, Hadapsar, Khadki, Daund, and Kolhapur, a total of 12 special trains will operate to major destinations such as Gorakhpur, Danapur, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Nagpur, Latur, Sanganer, Hisar, Kalaburagi, and Rewa.

01449 and 01481 Pune-Danapur Specials (15:30 hrs and 19:55 hrs)

01409 Pune-Nagpur Special (20:30 hrs)

01752 Hadapsar-Rewa Special (06:40 hrs)

01407 Khadki-Sanganer Special (09:45 hrs)

01451 Kolhapur-Kalaburagi Special (06:10 hrs)

These trains will connect Maharashtra to North and Central India, catering to the heavy festive demand.

Solapur division special trains

Three special train services will run from Kalaburagi and Latur on 27 October:

01422 Kalaburagi-Daund Unreserved Special (16:10 hrs)

01452 Kalaburagi-Kolhapur Special (18:10 hrs)

01429 Latur-Hadapsar Special (09:30 hrs)

These trains will facilitate convenient short-distance travel within Maharashtra and adjoining states.

Nagpur division special trains

Two specials will operate from Nagpur to the western part of the state:

01402 Nagpur-Pune Special (16:10 hrs)

01201 Nagpur-Hadapsar Special (19:40 hrs)

Both trains will pass through major stations including Wardha, Akola, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Manmad, and Kopargaon, ensuring connectivity for passengers travelling towards Pune.

Booking and Passenger Advisory

Bookings for all these special festival trains are already open at all computerised reservation centres and on the official IRCTC website (www.irctc.co.in).

Passengers can check detailed timings and halts on www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in or via the NTES mobile app.

“Travellers are advised to book valid tickets in advance and avoid unreserved travel to prevent inconvenience during the festive rush,” the statement said.
