The Central Railway’s Mumbai Division will operate a special traffic and power block on November 22-23 between Kasara and Khardi for the commissioning of a new Electronic Interlocking system at Umbermali, an official statement said on Friday.
The block will be in place from 22.40 hrs on November 22, 2025 to 07.40 hrs on November 23, 2025.
The work is part of the ongoing project to lay a third railway line between Kalyan and Kasara, it said.
The railway officials said that several long-distance and suburban services will be regulated, short-terminated or diverted during this period to ensure the smooth and safe completion of the infrastructure upgrade.

Trains to Be Passed on Authority (Kasara-Khardi section)
Several long-distance trains, including CSMT-Howrah Mail, Dadar-Sainagar Shirdi Express, Devgiri Express, Shalimar Express, Banaras Express, Punjab Mail, Duronto Express and others, will be allowed to pass between the affected section with manual authority, the statement said.
Certain suburban services between CSMT and Kasara, including late-night and early-morning trains, will also run under the special arrangement, it said.

“The Central Railway stated that these blocks are essential for infrastructure improvement and passenger safety. Travellers have been requested to cooperate and plan their journeys accordingly,” the statement said.
