CR to operate mega block on Thane–Kalyan Main Line this Sunday; details here

Central Railway’s (CR’s) Mumbai Division has announced a mega maintenance block on the Main Line of the suburban sections between Thane and Kalyan on Sunday to carry out essential engineering and maintenance works. The block will be undertaken on the UP and DOWN Fast Lines from 10.40 am to 3.40 pm.

The complete details of the block are as follows:

Down Fast/Semi-Fast services departing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 9.34 am and 3.03 pm will be diverted on the DOWN Slow Line between Thane and Kalyan. Additional halts will be provided at Kalwa, Mumbra, and Diva stations, along with their regular stops. These trains are expected to arrive at destinations approximately 10 minutes later than scheduled.

The UP Fast/Semi-Fast services departing Kalyan between 10.28 am and 3.40 pm will be diverted on the UP Slow Line, halting additionally at Diva, Mumbra, and Kalwa stations. They will be re-diverted to the UP Fast Line at Mulund, arriving approximately 10 minutes later than scheduled.

Impact on Mail/Express trains

DOWN Mail/Express trains departing CSMT/Dadar in Mumbai will be diverted on 5th line between Thane and Kalyan stations.

UP Mail/Express trains arriving CSMT/Dadar will be diverted on 6th line between Kalyan and Thane/ Vikhroli stations.

There will be no mega block on Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines. Only a special traffic block between Belapur and Panvel will be undertaken.

CR has appealed to commuters to bear with the railway administration for the inconvenience caused as these maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety.
