The wait is almost over for Mumbaikars! The much-awaited Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani Aagman Sohala has been scheduled for Sunday, August 17, marking the grand arrival of one of Mumbai’s most iconic Ganesh idols.
Every year, lakhs of devotees flock to Chinchpokli to catch the first glimpse of their beloved ‘Chintamani’, whose majestic arrival is nothing short of a visual and spiritual spectacle.
Speaking to mid-day.com, Siddesh Dighole, the man behind the idol, revealed that this year’s Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani is themed on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with the idol seated on a throne reflecting the royal Maratha grandeur. The striking murti stands tall at around 21 to 22 foot.
The Chintamani Pandal has officially announced the date for the grand entry procession, setting the stage for the Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 celebrations to begin in full swing. Known for its towering idol and energetic dhol-tasha pathaks, the Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani Aagman is a highlight of the city’s festive calendar.
Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 falls on Tuesday, August 27, and the city is already gearing up for 10 days of celebration, devotion, and unity. The festival is celebrated with grandeur across Maharashtra, with vibrant decorations, community gatherings, and chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” filling the air.
As the ‘Vighnaharta’ (remover of obstacles), Lord Ganesha’s arrival is considered highly auspicious, a symbol of new beginnings and collective hope. And when it comes to spirit, tradition, and fanfare, few idols capture Mumbai’s heart like Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani.
