A chemical leakage incident at Bhangarwadi, near the MIDC Police Station in Andheri East has left one person dead and two others in critical condition on Saturday evening.
The incident was reported at 4.55 pm by the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), and the update was shared at 5.22 pm. The leakage occurred in a ground-plus-one structure, and three people suffered suffocation. They were immediately rushed to Holy Spirit Hospital.
According to hospital authorities, Ahmad Hussain (20) was declared brought dead, while Naushad Ansari (28) and a 17-year-old are admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU) in critical condition.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade continues a search operation at the site, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been kept on alert as a precaution. The exact nature of the chemical involved is yet to be identified.
