Work front
This is quite a special Dussehra for Varun as he is gearing up for the release of his film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The film will be releasing in theatres on October 2. Helmed by Shashank Khaitan, the film also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Akshay Oberoi, and Maniesh Paul. The film is set against the lively backdrop of a grand Indian wedding. With a traditional ‘shaadi setup’ at its core, the movie promises to revive the timeless charm and joy of a classic family entertainer.
The film will be clashing with Rishab Shetty`s Kantara- Chapter 1 as well. Speaking at India Today Conclave 2025 about the clash, Varun stressed that there is enough space for all kinds of films. “Obviously, ‘Kantara’ is a very big film. The first one was amazing. I loved it myself. But our film is very different. I think there’s more than enough space for all kinds of films,” he said.
He also spoke about why they chose October 2 as the film`s release date. “Honestly, while setting the release date, Dharma Productions, who have been making films for so many years, picked October 2. It’s a huge date because it’s both Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti. So, overall, the business expected on this day will be much bigger than a normal Friday. Almost Rs 70 crore worth of business is available to be done in Hindi alone,” he said.
