Anya Singh recently starred in Netflix`s The Ba***ds of Bollywood, directed by Aryan Khan. The actress feels validated as she gets recognition for her portrayal of Sanya, Aasmaan’s (Lakshya`s) manager. In an exclusive chat with mid-day, she also reacted to rumours of being Pooja Dadlani`s daughter and recalled her amazing experience of shooting with Ranbir Kapoor.

Talking about the success of the show, the actress gushes, “My friends and family are very proud. For the first time, my mom is flaunting my work. From within the industry, multiple people reached out to me. I remember at an event, Vicky Kaushal told me he thought I was amazing in the show. Karan Johar also called me.”
As if she feels validated with the recognition after the show, pat came the reply, “I felt validated the day I was picked up by YRF. Out of 1,000 people, I was selected, even when I didn’t know much about the industry. I was very raw and just off the street. The instant validation that I could do this with YRF backing me was like someone validating my dreams.”
Talking about the failure of a project, she remarks, “I think I felt helpless in certain situations. I felt like I was not getting the desired work, but you have to be at it, and that`s life. You could be doing great work but still have self-doubt. To be a part of this profession, you need resilience and patience.”
Anya on being called Pooja Dadlani’s daughter
As the series released, rumours emerged that Anya Singh is the daughter of SRK’s manager Pooja Dadlani. Talking about how Pooja is like family for SRK, she recalled laughing off the rumours. “Pooja is one of the respected and admired managers. She is family to them. If I can also be the Pooja of the Khan family, then why not? Then there was this whole rumour that I was her daughter. I was called a nepo baby. But people say whatever they want to say, and I just laugh it off.”
Anya on shooting with SRK and Ranbir Kapoor
Talking about the environment on sets, Anya shares how Aryan didn’t put any pressure and created a family-like atmosphere. She also recalled spending time with Shah Rukh Khan at Mannat and said, “My favourite memory with Shah Rukh Khan is when one night we were at Mannat, and he spoke to us for a good 45 minutes. It was a one-on-one time with him among so many guests. Anything he says is just magical, and the emotion hits you when you experience it.”
She also gushed about shooting with Ranbir Kapoor and revealed how the actor is super chill. “It was day 2 of the shoot, and I was absolutely nervous because I was in between two legends in their own ways, and between Karan and Ranbir. They made me feel very comfortable and at ease, which is why there was a sweet moment. Ranbir is super chill as a professional. Pata hi nahi chala when they came, and we shot; it was a breeze shooting with them.”
