Dr Balakrishna Bhosale, a senior professor from the Department of Sociology at the University of Mumbai, has been selected for the prestigious High-Level Scientific Guest Research Fellowship – 2025 by the French government.
As part of this fellowship, Dr Bhosale will visit the University of Bordeaux, France, from November 1 to 14. During his academic visit, he will deliver two key lectures on ‘Hinduism from a Dalit Perspective’ and ‘The Condition of Rural Labour in India’. He will also undertake a comparative research study on ‘Labour in Heritage Tourism in France: A Comparative Study with India’.
The University of Mumbai stated that Dr Bhosale’s international engagement will help strengthen academic cooperation between India and France in the fields of sociology, labour studies, heritage tourism, and social research.
Dr Bhosale has extensive experience in teaching and research and has made significant contributions to national and international journals and publications in the field of social sciences. His scholarly writings and books have explored several dimensions of sociology.
An alumnus of Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, where he completed the Academic Leadership Development Programme, Dr Bhosale was earlier invited as a visiting professor by the prestigious Polytechnic University of Marche in Italy.
Congratulating him on his selection, University of Mumbai Vice-Chancellor Prof Ravindra Kulkarni extended his best wishes and lauded Dr Bhosale’s academic achievements and contribution to global scholarship.
