CR to operate special block this weekend for dismantling Kanjurmarg FOB

Central Railway will conduct special traffic and power blocks at Mumbai’s Kanjurmarg station on Saturday midnight to dismantle and de-launch the old ‘N-type’ truss girders of the foot overbridge (FOB) at the Kalyan end. The operation will be carried out using a 100-metric tonne (MT) road crane between Vikhroli and Bhandup stations on the Kurla-Kalyan section.

The block will be in effect from Saturday midnight to 5 am on Sunday on the UP and DOWN Slow, Fast, and 5th and 6th lines, excluding at Vikhroli and Mulund stations.

In view of this block, some Mumbai local train services have been cancelled. They are:

CSMT-Thane local departing at 11.38 pm on Saturday

Thane-Kurla local departing at 11.40 pm on Saturday

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)-Thane local departing at 12.24 am on Sunday

Thane- CSMT local departing at 4.04 am on Sunday

Short-terminated services

Dombivli-CSMT local departing at 10.18 pm on Saturday will terminate at Thane

CSMT-Thane locals departing at 11 pm, 11.12 pm, 11.46 pm, and 11.55 pm will terminate at Kurla

Short-originating services

Thane-CSMT local departing at 4.16 am on Sunday will originate from Kurla at 4.42 am

Kurla-Titwala local departing Vidyavihar at 4.45 am on Sunday will originate from Thane at 5.09 am

Diversions

DOWN Slow trains will run on the DOWN Fast line, skipping Vidyavihar, Kanjurmarg, and Nahur stations

UP Slow trains will run on the UP Fast line, skipping Nahur, Kanjurmarg, and Vidyavihar stations

Central Railway said these blocks are being carried out for infrastructure maintenance and passenger safety and has appealed to commuters to plan their journeys accordingly.

Central Railway announces mega block on its main line on Sunday

The Central Railway, while sharing Mumbai local train updates, on Friday said that it will carry out a mega block on Sunday, October 19, 2025, for maintenance work.

An official statement said that to perform essential engineering and maintenance works the Mumbai division of Central Railway will operate a mega block.

“The block will affect Central Railway`s main line`s 5th and 6th tracks between Vidyavihar and Thane stations, from 8 am to 1:30 pm,” the statement said.

It said that several long-distance up and down Mail/Express trains will be diverted onto other lines, resulting in delays of 10 to 15 minutes.

The Central Railway shared the details of the affected trains due to the block.
