Mumbai: 152 medical aspirants under scrutiny for uploading wrong documents

The CET Cell on Friday said that it has began a probe and issued notices to as many as 152 medical aspirants for allegedly uploading wrong documents.

It said that it had received complaints regarding this issue, and upon verification, found the documents of these 152 students to be invalid. The students were sent notices and asked to re-upload their original and authentic documents. However, only one student complied and uploaded the correct documents. Verification of the submitted documents is currently underway.

These new aspirants had applied in the third round of medical admissions through the State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell. Following complaints received about discrepancies in the documents, the CET Cell conducted a preliminary investigation and found inconsistencies in the submissions of 152 students. Subsequently, the Cell sent email notices to all of them, giving a deadline of 12 noon on Thursday to present their case and re-upload valid documents. So far, only one student has responded and uploaded the correct documents, which are now under verification.

Details sought from MCC

It has also been found that many of these 152 students entered incorrect email addresses and phone numbers, making it difficult for the CET Cell to contact them. As a result, the CET Cell has contacted the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of the National Medical Commission, which oversees the admission process, and requested complete details of these students.

Once the information is received from the MCC and verified, a final decision will be taken regarding the admission status of these 152 students.
