New feeder bus service launched for Mumbai Metro Aqua Line commuters

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) on Wednesday said that it has joined hands with Cityflo to launch dedicated feeder bus services for passengers using Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line).

It said that the service is designed to make first and last mile travel easier, smoother, and more convenient for daily commuters.

Speaking about the launch, R. Ramana, Director of Planning & Real Estate Development at MMRC, said, “Metro Line 3 marks a new era in Mumbai’s public transport. To ensure seamless travel, it’s essential that commuters have reliable first and last mile options.”

The feeder buses will initially operate from three key metro stations including Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), Worli and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT).

The services will link metro stations to important business and residential hubs at BKC, buses will stop at NSE, Jio Garden, One BKC, and the Family Court.

At Worli, key stops include Century Mills, One Indiabulls Centre, Kamala Mills, and Peninsula Corporate Park.

From CSMT, the route covers Old Custom House, Lions Gate, S.P. Mukherjee Chowk, K.C. College, and Churchgate Metro Station.

“Buses will run every 10 minutes during peak hours, with fares starting at just Rs 29 per ride. A monthly pass is available for Rs 499, making it cost-effective for regular travellers,” an official statement said.

It further said that the tickets can be bought through the Cityflo app or the MetroConnect3 app, allowing seamless integration with the metro network.

At the launch, Jerin Venad, CEO of Cityflo, said, “We’re proud to partner with MMRC to build an integrated mobility system. These feeder routes help promote sustainable and tech-enabled travel for the people of Mumbai.”

Meanwhile, earlier, on Tuesday, the MMRC had launched free Wi-Fi services for its commuters across all stations on Mumbai Metro Line-3 (Aqua Line).

The Wi-Fi facility is available at the concourse (ticketing) level of each station and is designed specifically to support seamless ticket booking via the official MetroConnect3 mobile app, an official statement said.

Several commuters had earlier highlighted about facing issues with their mobile phone internet while travelling on the Metro Line 3 route.

On Monday, mid-day had reported challenges faced by commuters on the first day of Mumbai Metro Line 3 Phase 2 operations, including poor mobile network connectivity.

MMRC stated that the Wi-Fi is secure, free, and reliable, encouraging commuters to use it for a hassle-free ticketing experience. The service is currently limited to ticket booking through the MetroConnect3 app.
