The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra has successfully completed 100 per cent admissions for the three-year law course under the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for the academic year 2025–26. All 19,895 seats under CAP have been filled across 218 law colleges in the state, an official statement said on Wednesday.
The admission process began on June 30, 2025 and continued until October 11, 2025, spanning over three months.
The admissions were conducted in four rounds, including three CAP rounds and one institute-level round, it said.
According to data shared by the CET Cell, out of a total of 23,859 seats (including CAP, EWS, and management quota), 22,917 students secured admission — marking an overall admission rate of 96.05 per cent.
Among the admitted students, 14,846 are male and 8,071 are female.
Under the CAP Quota, 100 per cent admissions were completed (19,895 out of 19,895 seats), under Management Quota — 99.95 per cent seats were filled (2,204 out of 2,205) and under the EWS Category — 48.75 per cent seats were filled.
There were 1,678 total seats and 818 were filled. There are now 860 vacant seats.
Despite lower interest in the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category, the overall admission response remains strong.

Dilip Sardesai, Commissioner, CET Cell, Maharashtra said, “In recent years, the number of students opting for legal education has significantly increased. This year, we completed the process smoothly in four rounds, and 96 per cent of applicants secured admission.”
