A deep love story in the making
Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has announced his next movie, which we hear is a charming story of love and longing, featuring Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, Sharvari, and Naseeruddin Shah. Produced by Applause Entertainment, Window Seat Films, and Reliance Entertainment, the film marks the reunion of Imtiaz with AR Rahman and Irshad Kamil, known for creating some of cinema’s most unforgettable melodies. Sharing his vision, the director said, “This film is about what remains with us when everything else is lost — the love that refuses to be left behind and continues to guide us.” The Mumbai leg of filming wrapped last month, with the shoot underway in Punjab. mid-day had earlier reported about the project being set against the backdrop of India’s partition.

Actor Sayantani Ghosh is continuing to shoot for her upcoming drama Jagadhatri despite a fractured foot. Talking about her decision to work through her injury, she said, “I fractured my foot recently, but as they say, the show must go on. I didn’t want this setback to come in the way. The team has been extremely considerate and caring. They are always keeping my health a priority.”

Actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly wrapped up the final schedule of Dhurandhar, his upcoming action drama directed by Aditya Dhar. However, Akshaye Khanna and others are still shooting and are expected to complete their portions today. The team, we have learnt, plans to launch its marketing campaign around Diwali with new posters, a song, and teasers. The film marks Ranveer’s return to the big screen after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023). The film, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, is slated to arrive in cinemas on December 5. It promises to be a high-octane blend of drama set against the backdrop of a high-stakes intelligence operation.
