Have you heard? Ranbir Kapoor calls himself a product of nepotism

A great ‘product of nepotism’

Terming himself a “product of nepotism”, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, on October 9, said he was always aware of the perks of being born into a film family, but asserted that lineage never guarantees success. Ranbir, part of the fourth generation of the illustrious Kapoor family, said that he had to develop an individualistic approach and prove his talent independently to sustain in the industry. “I’m a product of nepotism and I got it very easy in my life, but I always had to work hard because I realised that I come from a family like this and if I don’t have an individualistic approach and don’t make a name for myself, I’ll not succeed in the film industry,” he said at an event in Mumbai.

Canada after bankruptcy

Rajat Bedi

Actor Rajat Bedi, known for Koi… Mil Gaya (2003) and The Ba***ds of Bollywood, recently revealed why he shifted base to Canada around 2007. “I was unsatisfied with the work I was doing and even turned down an offer from Ektaa R Kapoor to move to television,” he shared in a chat with Siddharth Kannan. Rajat said his decision was also influenced by a close friend who fled to Canada after going bankrupt. “My career was struggling, and I had no money to run my household. So, I moved there with my family in 2007-08 and started a real estate business,” he recalled, adding that his $200 million venture later collapsed due to betrayal by partners, but he found a silver lining again in India recently.

Sunil Grover, Tamannaah Bhatia and Sunil Grover

Following a brief production halt, we have learnt that Vvan: Force of the Forest is back on track, with filming set to resume on October 24 in Mumbai. The mythological folk thriller, produced by The Viral Fever and Balaji Motion Pictures, stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles. The buzz is that actor Sunil Grover has joined the cast. There were reports doing the rounds that the shoot was earlier paused due to creative differences between Sidharth and director Deepak Mishra, which have now been resolved after extensive script revisions. The movie apparently draws inspiration from the Chhath puja traditions of Bihar and promises a Kantara-style blend of folklore, spirituality, and social commentary.
