35-year-old critically injured in wall collapse at Antop Hill

A portion of a wall of ground-plus-two structure in Mumbai’s Antop Hill area collapsed on Tuesday afternoon, leaving a 35-year-old critically injured.

The incident occurred around 2.15 pm at Bhartiya Kamla Nagar near Ram Janki Nagar in Koyala Gully No 1, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed.

The injured man has been identified as Mohd Husain Shaikh. He was rushed to Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General (LTMG) Hospital in Sion, where his condition is reported to be critical, the hospital’s assistant medical officer said.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), local police, and BMC ward staff were mobilised immediately to the site to carry out the rescue operations.

The reason behind the house collapse is currently under investigation.

Mumbai: Part of residential building collapses in Andheri; no casualty

The officials said that a portion of the gallery of a two-storey building collapsed in Mumbai`s Andheri area on Tuesday morning, reported news agency PTI.

There was no report of any casualty, they said.

The incident was reported at 11.30 am in P&T Colony on Sahar Airport Road, reported PTI.

“A part of the gallery of the residential structure collapse. No injuries have been reported so far,” a civic official said, reported PTI.

Teams of the fire brigade, police, and civic ward staff were immediately mobilised to the site for rescue and safety assessment, the official added.

Protection wall collapses at housing society in Thane; no casualty

In another incident, a protection wall and several trees collapsed at a housing society in Maharashtra`s Thane city on Sunday, a civic official said, reported PTI.

No one was injured in the incident, which occurred at Nilkanth Green society near Tikujini Wadi in Manpada area, Thane Municipal Corporation`s disaster management cell chief Yasin Tadvi said., reported PTI.

The city has been witnessing heavy rainfall since Saturday morning.

“The protective wall, measuring about 150 feet in length and 20 feet in height, of the housing society suddenly gave way and collapsed into the nearby drain. Along with the wall, five to six trees adjacent to it also fell,” Tadvi stated, reported PTI.

Teams from multiple departments rushed to the spot immediately.
