Following a mid-day report on repeated trespassing at the Dairy Science Institute by youths filming social media content, the Aarey CEO has decided to formally request the Aarey police and forest department to step up night patrols and crack down on violators. In addition, a security guard from the Aarey security department will now be stationed at the site to prevent further breaches.

S Shirpurkar, chief executive officer of Aarey Milk Colony, said, “I have informed the senior police inspector of Aarey Milk Colony police station as well as forest department officials, requesting them to increase night patrols and take strict action against trespassers entering government property. We will also deploy a security guard at the Teaching Dairy gate to stop people from venturing in.”
On September 25, mid-day published a story that revealed how a group of youngsters had illegally entered Aarey’s defunct Teaching Dairy — also known as the Dairy Science Institute — in the middle of the night. They filmed themselves rummaging through old documents and vintage photos, with the stunt later posted on Instagram by the handle ankiittt._____. The video, uploaded on September 4, has already racked up 1.8 million views. In the clip, the group could be seen arriving on bikes, lifting the shutter of the Dairy Science Institute, climbing an interior staircase, entering what looks like a lab, and even opening a refrigerator.
Officials warn that such antics are not only unlawful but dangerous. Many abandoned buildings in Aarey are frequented by leopards and snakes. The Teaching Dairy is one of several locations in Aarey often featured in ghost-story videos on Instagram and YouTube, where creators use the colony’s abandoned structures as backdrops for horror content. Over the years, such midnight visits and shoots have only grown more frequent, especially on weekends, putting both intruders and wildlife at risk.
