Filmmaker Laxman Utekar, fresh off the success of Chhaava, is preparing another period drama rooted in Maharashtrian history, with Shraddha Kapoor cast in the lead. We have learnt that the project’s working title is Ita, and it will will see Shraddha portray a trained classical dancer. Reports suggesting she has begun preparations through intensive workshops to refine her skills. Industry insiders indicate the film will highlight an important female figure from Maharashtra’s past, aiming to showcase the region’s cultural legacy on a national scale. Mounted on an ambitious budget, the film is expected to go on floors this November, targeting a late 2026 release.
Courtroom drama shot secretly

Director Suparn Varma, best known for directing web shows such as the second season of The Family Man (2021), Rana Naidu and The Trial, is set to make his theatrical debut with the courtroom drama Haq, starring Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam. Reports suggest the film is inspired by the landmark Shah Bano vs Ahmed Khan Supreme Court case, and the team is said to have wrapped up the shoot. The project marks Yami’s return to real-life narratives after Article 370 (2024) and her first collaboration with Emraan. This is also the first film she shot after returning from her maternity break. We have learnt that the movie is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on November 7.

Bollywood is gearing up to end 2025 on a romantic note with Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, directed by National Award winner Sameer Vidwans. Starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, the film is set to release on New Year’s Eve, December 31. Described by the makers as “a playful yet heartfelt journey of love,” it promises to strike a balance between humour and emotion. The film’s announcement earlier this year generated significant buzz, as this marks the first film for the lead pair following reports of a personal relationship and subsequent break-up. The romantic comedy is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions in collaboration with Namah Pictures, raising expectations for a festive box-office treat to close the year.
