Due to heavy rain today, all schools in the city were given a half-day. Near Matunga Police Station, a Don Bosco school bus got stuck in severe waterlogging. Inside the bus, 6 small children, 2 lady staff members, and the driver were trapped for nearly an hour.
After a local journalist informed DCP Zone 4, Ragasudha R, about the situation. Acting immediately, Matunga Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Pawar and his team reached the spot and rescued everyone within 2 minutes, bringing them safely to the police station.
The police provided biscuits to the children to comfort them after the ordeal.
The timely action of DCP Ragasudha R, Senior PI Ravindra Pawar, and the Matunga Police staff has been widely appreciated.
