Actor Vikrant Massey is delivering one prolific performance after another ever since the success of 12th Fail. He surprised all with his stint in Sector 36 and The Sabarmati Report as well. While he is currently enjoying the theatrical run of Aankhon ki Gustakhiyan, he was reportedly gearing up for his next release Don 3. Vikrant was reported to lock horns with Ranveer Singh. However, looks like he has now opted out of the film.
Vikrant Massey exits Don 3 for this reason
As per reports in Bollywood Hungama, industry insiders revealed that, “Vikrant made the bold decision to walk away as he was unhappy with his character. The character of a smooth-talking scamster, demanded a significant makeover and featured numerous high-octane action combat scenes against Ranveer Singh. This unexpected move has left Farhan Akhtar and the production team scrambling to find a suitable replacement, who can do justice to this complex character.”
A source close to the producers also told the portal, “There is no doubt that Vikrant would have been phenomenal. We are certain that another actor of his calibre will step up and take this challenge head-on.” After his exit, rumours are rife that Vijay Devarakonda and Aditya Roy Kapur are approached to fill the 12th Fail actor’s shoes. However, neither actor has confirmed the role yet, leaving fans and industry watchers on the edge of their seats.
About Don 3
Earlier, Farhan Akhtar had announced Don 3 with Ranveer and Kiara Advani. However, the Shershaah actress too left the film after she announced pregnancy and was keen on focus on personal life. As per reports, Kriti Sanon and Sharvari Wagh was approached to replace her. Don 3 was also supposed to go on floors in January 2026.
Meanwhile, on the work front for Vikrant Massey, he has Dostana 2 and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar biopic White in his kitty. Speaking about the film, the creators describe `White` as not just a cinematic experience, but a tribute to how ancient Indian wisdom contributed to a monumental act of peace in the modern world. The movie will be made in English and Spanish.
