Three injured in fire at a food shop in Mahim 

Three people were injured in a fire at a food store near the Makhdoom Shah Dargah on Cadel Road in Mahim , Mumbai, on Friday evening, according to information from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation`s (BMC) disaster management department.

The injured were rushed to Sion Hospital by locals, before the Mumbai Fire Brigade reached the spot.

One of the injured – 34-year-old Pravin Pujari – is reported to be in a critical condition.

The other two injured persons have been identified as Mukesh Gupta, 34, and Shiv Mohan, 24. Their condition is said to be stable.

The fire was reported at 6.17 pm on Friday, and doused within 25 minutes, by 6.40 pm. A cylinder blast was also reported during this time.

According to information from the Fire Brigade`s control room, a water tanker and two fire engines were deployed to the spot.

The surrounding premises have not been majorly affected by the fire.
