India`s Home Minister, Amit Shah, will be in Mumbai on May 27, 2025, during his three-day visit to Maharashtra. He will attend several functions in Mumbai including the 150th anniversary of the ancient Laxmi Narayan Temple at Madhavbaug Complex. After attending the 150th anniversary of the temple, the home minister will proceed to Mumbai`s Jahangir Hall. At Jahangir, Amit Shah will address a ceremony commemorating the 60th death anniversary of the great Veer Savarkar.
Veer Savarkar was a solidarity member of the Bhartiya Janata Party when the party was marking its presence in the country. The great Veer Savarkar was one of the first Indian leaders to fight for Hindu rights, making him a great leader and an inspiration to millions of people who idolised patriotism and Hindu ideology. Veer Savarkar`s Hindu ideology has guided the BJP from its inception. On his 60th death anniversary, India`s honourable home minister will deliver a speech. In his speech, Shah is expected to salute Veer Savarkar and offer his thoughts on the solidarity work done by Veer Savarkar during the 19th century.
Veer Savarkar, a strong and ideological symbol for the BJP, underlines the party`s intention to emphasise its nationalist agenda. The Bharatiya Janata Party signifies that their goal is to disseminate a fundamental nationalist message while paying tribute to past Hindutva luminaries like Veer Savarkar. The Bhartiya Janta Party`s devotion to Veer Savarkar goes beyond mere cultural observance. The BJP also represents a political statement aimed at galvanising the party support in Maharashtra by commemorating Veer Savarkar on his 60th death anniversary.
Following the success of Operation Sindoor, this is Home Minister Amit Shah`s first trip to Maharashtra. While addressing the 60th death anniversary of Veer Savarkar, he would also be praising the achievements of the Indian armed forces, who worked tirelessly during the India-Pakistan hostilities.
However, the Union Home Minister`s visit to Mumbai will also include critical meetings with senior BJP leaders in Maharashtra and discussions about the Mahayuti Alliance.
