Peak-hour services on Mumbai Metro-1 (Blue Line) were disrupted on Monday evening due to a technical snag in one of the trains.
“There were winding queues at Marol station, which led to a chaotic situation. The trains are already crowded with only four coaches, and such problems cause the crowds to burst at their seams,” said Dhaval Shah of Lokhandwala Oshiwara Citizens` Association (LOCA).
“I was at the station and it was so crowded that I did not realise where the queue started. It was very difficult,” said another commuter.
Mumbai Metro-1 officials confirmed the development.
“A technical issue in one of the trains at Ghatkopar, resulted in overall service delay. Operations regularised within eight to 10 minutes,” an official said.
