A massive fire broke out at the Blue Roof Club in the Ghodbunder Road area of Thane on Thursday night at 10:30 pm due to fireworks, reported news agency ANI.
The Disaster Management team and the fire department responded quickly, dispatching brigades to the Thane club. The fire was brought under control within half an hour.
Speaking with the media, Yaseen Tadvi, Disaster Management Officer, Thane Municipal Corporation, said, “We cannot specify the reason for the fire at the Thane club, but the fire was massive. When the Disaster Management team received a call, the fire department immediately dispatched fire brigades to the location. The fire was brought under control after considerable effort. There have been no casualties or injuries. The fire broke out about one hour ago, and we controlled the fire in about half an hour,” reported ANI.

Fire breaks out near tunnel on Mumbai Coastal Road; none hurt
In another incident, a fire erupted outside a tunnel on the Coastal Road in south Mumbai on Wednesday evening, but no injuries were reported, civic officials said, reported PTI.
The blaze outside the tunnel at Marine Lines opposite the Police Gymkhana was reported to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) at 7.12 pm, they said, reported PTI.
No injuries were reported in the fire, which was doused in less than an hour, said the officials.
A civic official said the blaze may have been caused by a short circuit.
The structure where the fire started was used for the storage of some materials, he added.
Fire erupts at three warehouses in Thane; none hurt
Earlier, a fire broke out at three warehouses in Maharashtra`s Thane district on Sunday afternoon, triggering panic in the industrial area, officials said, reported PTI.
There was no report of any casualty, they said.
The blaze was reported at around 2.30 pm in three warehouses at Gayatri Nagar in Bhiwandi town, the officials said, adding it was not yet known what was stored there.
Multiple fire engines were rushed to the spot, Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation`s disaster management cell chief Saquib Kharbe said, reported PTI.
“So far, there are no reports of anyone being injured,” he said, adding that efforts were on to ensure the fire does not spread to adjoining structures.
The exact cause of the blaze was yet to be ascertained.
Earlier in the day, a fire broke out at a godown storing autorickshaws at Kalher in Bhiwandi town, officials said.
No casualties were reported, they said.
