Mumbai Metro lines 2A and 7 will begin services an hour later than usual on December 12, with trains starting at 7 am instead of 6 am, an official statement said on Thursday.
The change in operations was being made to allow a team from the Office of the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety to carry out an `important` inspection, it said.
According to the statement, the inspection is required before approval is granted to start metro services between Metro Line 7 and Metro Line 9 (Phase 1). It will include essential system integration checks and safety trials. These steps are part of the process to extend direct metro connectivity from Andheri (East) to Mira Bhayandar, which is expected to offer a smoother and more convenient journey for commuters in the future.
